IMPORTANT HTML 5 VIDEO FILE NOT FOUND

Is there a fix for this? I can watch about 5 second of a video and then i get this message.
Hello,
You may contact uploaders and ask them to re-upload those videos again. ( if they have the original file)
Thank you.

Good afternoon, I have the HTML5 error. I don't have VPN or adblocks, but the videos don't play for me and they were uploaded 3 or 4 days ago. I don't know how to solve this problem, I've had it for about 2 weeks

I really don't understand HTML5 error. I have it on most of my old videos and thought that their age was the cause. I'm not so sure anymore. I found that whether adblock is enabled or not, the error stays.

It would be good to know if there is anything to be done to fix this error or even what causes it.

I have found on videos with this error on other profiles, that they can still be downloaded, if not played. Playing a video directly off the site can be a nuisance because of lagging and if you do have adblock enabled it will prevent you from watching. Download is the better approach I think.

Hi @Brossard,
I followed your advice and tried Tubedigger with Chromium Android setting, but it doesn't work at all.
I can't download videos with html5 error. Maybe I forgot something.
Regards

While the download method works for me most of the time, it is not 100% and I have had files that fail.

Seems stupid for members to go to the trouble of uploading only to have their vids become unusable.

C'mon mods, lets have some advice on this issue.

i keep getting this error message during playback. anyone have suggestions as to why?
Using an adblocker or a corrupted video could cause getting such an error message.
Last year we lost some videos due to an incident in the data center. We can't recover them.

Segue to my question: ALL of my videos (100s) older than 2 years are unplayable due to HTML5 error. I thought maybe it was their age but there are other peoples videos older than mine that still play. Any ideas? Maybe these were lost during the incident referred to. When I try to play a video (not mine) with adblock on it stops a short while into the video asking me to turn off adblock.

so do you think that the videos giving me this error are lost? i have disabled all ad blockers ... you think that its a corupted video in my library? or in a friends library that im viewing

Yes, that's correct.
The error is't on your end.

There are many servers, and not necessarily all the videos were located on a damaged server.
However, if you encounter this error, please send us the links.
We will try to recover them if there is a chance.( 50/50)

Thanks, as I said, there are hundreds of videos affected so probably a lot of work to do that and probably not worth it. I was just curious. What I should do is a test to see if the affected vids will run after downloading. If that is so the content is not lost.

By way of update I tried to download three of my videos that had HTML5 error. Two failed and one worked. So, kind of hit and miss I suppose.

I have found that videos older than 1 year will be lost forever, my guess is the admins wants to save money for hosting so if any vids older than 1 year they'll get deleted automatically
